What happens in your first physiotherapy session
A full assessment, an explanation of what we find, and usually treatment on the same day.
The first session is mostly assessment, because treating before you understand the problem is guesswork.
What to expect
We take a full history, watch how you move, and test strength, flexibility and joint range. Then we explain what we have found in plain language, and what can realistically be changed.
Most first sessions also include hands-on treatment and a small home programme, so you leave with something to do rather than only an appointment for next week.
What to bring
Any scans or reports you already have, comfortable clothing you can move in, and a clear idea of what you want to get back to doing.
